In this context, Kim Tin Group selected NLT Group as its partner to implement core software platforms in its operations system. The goal is not only to put the DMS and TMS applications into use, but also to gradually build a unified data foundation, laying the groundwork for scaling and optimizing operations in subsequent phases.
DMS & TMS – software “backbone” of the operations system
Kim Tin Group and NLT Group agreed to adopt a dual–solution approach:
- DMS software – distribution and sales management system
- TMS software – transport and delivery management system
These two platforms are seen as the software “backbone” of Kim Tin Group’s operations system.
DMS – distribution and sales management system
We at NLT Group are implementing the DMS solution to help Kim Tin Group better manage its distribution and sales activities, from distributors and agents to its salesforce. On a unified platform, data on orders, inventory at distribution points and target performance status is centralized, helping reduce discrepancies between actual figures and reports, while lowering reliance on manual spreadsheet processing.
TMS – transport and delivery management system
In parallel with DMS, the TMS system is being developed by NLT Group to manage transport and delivery. Data on delivery routes, vehicles, trips, delivery times and other transport–related information is brought into a centralized system. This helps Kim Tin Group enhance route control, optimize dispatching and monitor the delivery process more effectively.
The combination of DMS and TMS enables end–to–end connectivity from the sales side to warehouse and transport, forming a holistic view of distribution and operational activities on a single unified platform.
NLT Group’s outsourcing team deployed “on the ground” at Kim Tin headquarters
To ensure implementation quality, our outsourcing team is working directly at Kim Tin Group’s headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City. Being on site allows both sides to coordinate closely and stay aligned with Kim Tin’s actual processes and operational specifics.
The two sides have agreed on an operating model and moved into the “on–the–ground execution” phase with key work streams:
- Configuring the system according to the agreed operating model
- Standardizing data for DMS, TMS and related integrations
- Training end users in departments that will directly operate the system
- Running pilots on Kim Tin Group’s real processes to test fitness before scaling up
This approach ensures that the implementation of DMS and TMS does not stop at the theoretical level or tests on simulated data, but is gradually anchored in real operations, reducing risks when shifting from legacy ways of working to the new system.
SAP integration and warehouse management with Barcode on SAP WM and MM
Alongside DMS and TMS deployment, we at NLT Group are also involved in integration projects with Kim Tin Group’s SAP system. One key workstream is warehouse management using Barcode technology on SAP WM and MM modules.
This solution focuses on:
- Managing stock in–out–on–hand more tightly
- Controlling warehouse flows according to standardized processes
- Ensuring warehouse data is updated in sync with the SAP core system
By using barcodes, inbound, outbound and transfer operations are recorded directly into the system, reducing the potential for errors from manual recording while increasing processing speed. When connected with SAP WM, MM and aligned with data from DMS and TMS, the warehouse system becomes a critical link in the overall operations chain.
