On the afternoon of 20/10/2023, NLT Group coordinated with the Department of Transport of Ninh Thuan province to organize the handover ceremony and put into operation the SmartBus smart bus lookup software built and fully sponsored 100% by the Group with the goal of developing the transport sector by promoting the application and development of information technology, in order to provide public passenger transport information quickly and conveniently from the state management agency.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Van Vinh – Leader of the Department of Transport of Ninh Thuan province, Mr. Trinh Nhu Son – Deputy Chief Inspector of the Department of Transport, Mr. Nguyen Duc Toan – Representative of the Department of Information and Communications along with many leaders and representatives of relevant departments and agencies.
In todays digital era, bus routes have been contributing to ensuring peoples travel needs, reducing traffic pressure, and reducing traffic accidents. With the goal of continuing to develop sustainable transportation, encouraging people to use public passenger transport, diversifying transport modes and methods, under Decision 965/QD-BGTVT dated 07/08/2023 of the Minister of Transport on approving the project Strengthening the application of information technology and digital transformation in the road sector for the 2023 – 2025 period, orientation to 2030, NLT Group joins hands with the central authority in the digital transformation process, coordinating with the Department of Transport to develop the SmartBus software to help people travel by bus more comfortably and easily.
According to Dr. Bui Huu Phu – Chairman of NLT Group, the SmartBus software is a convenient tool for road users using bus services on intra provincial routes. The key features of SmartBus help passengers easily find routes for traveling by public transport in the city, suggest routes and look up trips so passengers can travel in the most reasonable and optimal way.
Next, we surveyed all bus routes in the province to rationalize routes on the software, avoid congestion points, increase connectivity and expand the service area; address existing issues and shortcomings at stops to create convenience for passengers and ensure conditions for bus operations.
The SmartBus platform with the criteria Friendly – Innovation – Creativity will certainly deliver a smart and modern bus experience built on the latest technology platform, with the main objective taking residents and public transport passengers as the center will provide users with the best experiences and the fastest and most convenient information from the Department of Transport and the Public Transport Management Center.
The SmartBus application uses NLT Groups core digital GIS map technology, allowing users to calculate time, determine travel routes and optimize their journeys, aiming to encourage residents of Ninh Thuan province to use public transport by bus more often, the application includes several key features as follows:
- Forecasting bus arrival time at stops through personalized features that help passengers identify routes, lines, stops of interest, suggest alternative routes, set reminders for routes of interest, set locations of interest, share routes with interested people.
- Providing bus route information allowing users to quickly look up information about the citys bus network, charts, routes, operating hours, fares, …
- Public passenger transport information including information about routes and shelters. In addition, it allows passengers to look up information about shelters and bus routes around their current location.
- Feedback feature to the Center helps guide passengers to provide suggestions and feedback directly in the chat program. Feedback information will be transferred to the Public Transport Management Center immediately for timely handling.
In particular, the application provides public passenger transport information to support management agencies in improving traffic management and operations across the province, while enhancing passenger service quality, helping people feel more convenient when traveling by bus, thereby attracting people to participate in public transport, reducing private vehicles, and reducing traffic congestion.
A representative of the Department of Transport of Ninh Thuan province said that the province always pays attention to developing public transport, especially passenger transport by bus. This is a civilized and sustainable mode worldwide and cities in Vietnam are focusing on developing it. We hope the SmartBus software will deliver many positive signals. To improve the application, in the coming time the Department and NLT Group will continue to adjust and enhance several new improvement points, moving toward the goal that SmartBus will become a search software across the entire public passenger transport system in the province. Implementing the citys determination toward a civilized, modern, and sustainable public passenger transport system.
