To implement digital transformation (DT) effectively and sustainably, and to successfully achieve the goals of the National Digital Transformation Program, according to Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung, Viet Nam urgently needs digital talent. For Viet Nam to have sufficient digital talent, from now until 2030, it must train about 150,000 digital workers each year at college level and above. Currently, only about 65,000 people are trained each year, which is less than 50% of demand. The proportion of information technology human resources is estimated at 1.1% of the countrys total 51 million workers. This rate is relatively low compared to some countries such as the United States (4%), South Korea (2.5%), and India (1.78%).

Understanding the labor market talent shortage, NLT Group researched and developed the DTL Lab based on real modules that form a smart city ecosystem which the Group has operated in practice for central authorities, government organizations, and enterprises nationwide, such as smart lighting, smart traffic, smart fire prevention and firefighting, environmental monitoring, agriculture, fisheries… applying Industry 4.0 achievements including IoT, AI, Big Data, GIS, Cloud. All of these solutions aim to promote digital transformation in education, train high quality human resources to meet societal needs, and cultivate a strong engineering workforce for the Group in the coming period.

At the event, Dr. Bui Huu Phu – Chairman of NLT Group delivered remarks: “The investment value of the DTL Lab project funded by NLT Group is more than 10 billion VND. Through this event, NLT Group wants to demonstrate that domestic organizations can do what foreign technology corporations can do and even more, proving that Vietnamese technology products are not inferior to foreign technology products. With the strength of being a pioneering unit in Vietnam in R&D, mastering technology solutions and products, manufacturing hardware devices, and building software systems on advanced Industry 4.0 platforms, NLT Group wants to invest in practical laboratory rooms for universities and vocational colleges in Vietnam so that students and lecturers can access real projects and technology products, linking teaching with practice, helping graduates gain more job opportunities and contribute more to society, while also promoting scientific research to create high quality “Made in Viet Nam” products that can compete with international products. With our strong relationship with the University of Technology and Education – The University of Danang, NLT Group will have a stronger foundation for research to successfully develop many breakthrough high tech products at international standards.”
